The 2022 edition of the Autumn Alive book fair (Outono Vivo) ranked third in sales nationally.
The information was revealed by the Mayor of Praia da Vitória, Vânia Ferreira, at the presentation of the 18th edition of the event, scheduled to take place between October 27 and November 12.
The Praia da Vitória City Council organizes the festival in partnership with Cooperativa Praia Cultural and Papelaria 96.
This event, besides being considered “the biggest in our region,” “has already been consolidated in Praia da Vitória and is recognized at the national level,” says Vânia Ferreira.
According to the President, being recognized as the “third biggest seller at the national level” is a challenge “in the effective sense that we can once again be in this top 3”.
The Councillor for Culture, Paula Sousa, highlighted André Leonardo’s “Faz Acontecer” event, which this time has the theme of “Overcoming.” He will be joined by several speakers who will also present their books at Outono Vivo.
As usual, the event will feature presentations and book launches by regional and national writers and authors, with the highlight being the launch of Diniz Borges’ latest book.

Around 50,000 books will be available. Thirty-three thousand titles and 90 publishers.
The program includes exhibitions, theater, music, round tables, informal talks, cinema, poetry, and a senior afternoon.
In the musical field, the opening concert is by the artist Cristóvão.
Natália Correia and Annie Ernaux, winners of the 2022 Nobel Prize for Literature, will be honored.
A play by the Sala group will celebrate Natália Correia’s 100th birthday, while Annie Ernaux will be remembered through a literary challenge on social media.
There is also hosting a museological meeting called “The Future of the Past,” a tourist route promoted by the Praia da Vittória City Council’s tourism office and the presence of the Urban Sketchers.
At the same time, there are children’s activities run by the Municipal Library.
This edition of Autumn Alive has a budget of around 30 thousand euros. The 20% discount on book purchases will continue, as will the 1 euro school vouchers.
