Miguel Albuquerque has already been nominated to form the XV Regional Government and is expected to present his team to Ireneu Barreto the following Monday at 5 pm.

After the audience with the Representative of the Republic, the PSD-M leader was asked how he would guarantee the survival of a minority government.

Albuquerque assures that much dialogue will be necessary and admits to including proposals common to several parties, such as tax reduction or the review of the regional finance law, in the program and budget. A regional budget must be approved by the end of July, before the parliamentary holidays.

“The government will govern in parliamentary dialogue and is open to adopting some measures that are in line with our program”, he stated.

He doesn’t accept entering into negotiations of “bacalhau a pataco” type proposals just to please people.

Regarding the legal process in which he is accused, he minimizes the issue and says it is in the investigation phase.

The next government should not be very different from the current one. An Executive that, he hopes, will be for four years.

“I don’t make provisional governments; I make governments for a four-year legislature,” he concludes.
