Azores Airlines has already started direct connections between the USA, Canada, and Madeira, with the arrival of the first direct flights between Toronto and Boston and the neighboring archipelago.
In a statement, the SATA Group said that the “summer 2024 operation to Madeira has started, which, in addition to these direct flights, maintains the offer of more connections, via Ponta Delgada, and maintains the direct weekly frequency, already operated in 2023, between New York and Madeira”.
For Graça Silva, SATA’s Director of Sales, Marketing, and Communications, “These two direct operations represent the culmination of consistent work, in harmony with our partners in the United States, Canada, and the Madeira archipelago, which have made it possible to once again expand the offer to this archipelago with these direct flights, which are in addition to the New York operation and the flights between the Azores and Madeira, which Azores Airlines has provided over the years,” said Graça Silva, SATA’s Director of Sales, Marketing and Communications.
The direct link between Canada and Madeira operates once a week, with departures from Funchal on Fridays. In the opposite direction, flights depart from Toronto on Saturdays.
The direct operation between Boston and Funchal includes a direct flight from Boston on Tuesdays and a reverse flight from Funchal on Wednesdays.
The statement added, “In addition to these direct connections, there are seven weekly connections, either from Boston or Toronto, via Ponta Delgada, which can also be used by passengers wishing to travel from North America to Madeira and vice versa.”
