Fifteen years after it was closed, the Porto Martins Swimming Pool Support Bar reopened its doors on Saturday morning, the 15th, following the concession process carried out by Praia da Vitória City Council.

At the inauguration ceremony, the Mayor stressed her satisfaction with the resolution of the population and users’ desire for that bathing area, which resulted in an investment of more than 40 thousand euros.

“As of today, we will be able to enjoy this MARTINE’S, a space closed for more than 15 years, a pressing need in this sun-bathing area. Our policy of making the municipality’s bathing areas much more dynamic involves supporting bars and important structures for those who use our bathing areas. In fact, this perspective is based not only on the frequency of bathing areas by the locals, but also on the increase in the number of tourists that we have seen,” stated Vânia Ferreira.

The mayor also stressed that the inauguration reflects the municipal executive’s commitment to solving the real problems of each part of the territory through “concrete, fair and conducive measures for the development of the territory, without harming the municipal accounts.”

For the Mayor, the bar’s opening and other private investments of the exact nature reinforce the parish’s attractiveness and “boost economic development.”
