Where were you born? Angra do Heroismo, Terceira. Azores.

Where do you reside: Twin Falls, Idaho

If different, when did you move and why?: I moved to Idaho in the late 80’s my parents had a dairy here, so I decided to come join them

Where were your parents from? My father was from Topo Sao Jorge, and my mother was from Angra.

What is your favorite song? Show? Movie?: Tudo isto é Fado – I Love Lucy – Miss Congeniality.

What is your favorite quote or saying? “Juizo na cabeça”

What is one of your dreams? To attend the international wine festival in Budapest.

What is one of your fears? Failure – I’m also kind of scared of high places.

What is an interesting fact about you? I have a doctorate degree that I don’t tell people about because it sounds braggadocious.

What is your favorite Portuguese dish and or dessert? Polvo guisado and carne alentejana

What is your favorite Portuguese saying or word? Juizo na cabeca and Mer*a!

What is the best part of being Portuguese to you? I love everything about our rich culture.

Three of your favorite places you have visited? The Azores (I can’t pick just one Island), Santorini, and Paris. All for very different reasons.

Is there anywhere you’d like to travel to? I want to go to Australia.

Name something off your bucket list: Have every page on my passport stamped with different countries.

What advice do you give someone going through a hard time? Be kind to yourself. Everything is temporary and this too shall pass. Accept the struggle and reframe in your mind….and thank God for unanswered prayers.
