The 50th anniversary of businessman Carlos Sá’s work at Londrina, a ready-to-wear company in the traditional commerce of downtown Ponta Delgada, was commemorated with a party and a book presentation.
The celebration occurred last Saturday, November 2. It began with musical and cultural entertainment by the São Miguel Folkloric Group, of which Carlos Sá is a member.
This was followed by the presentation of Carlos Augusto Corvelo César’s book Fifty Years of Dedication to Londrina, which will be presented by journalist Santos Narciso.
The book, published by Londrina, includes historical information about the company, established in 1942, and various testimonies from clients, businessmen, and friends of Carlos Sá. It also contains interviews and reports from almost all of São Miguel’s newspapers on numerous moments in Carlos Sá’s business life and his professional and civic vision, ending with a photographic collection.
The book sale proceeds will go to the Casa do Gaiato (a children’s home) in Ponta Delgada.
