The island of Faial now has another shopping center, with the arrival of the “Pingo Doce” brand, whose store opened on the 14th and today hosted the official inauguration ceremony, with the presence of the presidents of the Finançor Group and the Jerónimo Martins Group, the Mayor of Horta and various entities.
The Mayor of Horta, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor, Carlos Morais, welcomed the partnership between the Finançor and Jerónimo Martins Groups in bringing the brand to the island of Faial.
“It is with great satisfaction that the Municipality of Horta sees the opening of this establishment on our island, making available to the people of Faial another quality offer, as far as food distribution is concerned,” he said, praising the creation of 48 jobs.
On occasion, Carlos Ferreira reiterated “that one of the strategic pillars of territorial development is the economy, reflected in the commitment to stimulate sustainable economic growth, boost business attractiveness, stimulate entrepreneurship and foster job creation.”
“Investors are partners in development and in the creation of stable, valued and fairly paid jobs,” he stressed. The mayor of Faial also noted that “the growing attractiveness of the island is also a stimulus for all those who work daily for the quality of life of the population and the future of Faial.”
