The regional minimum wage will rise to 913.5 euros from 2025.
The increase stems from the Government of the Republic’s decision, announced yesterday, to increase the national minimum wage to 870 euros, 50 euros more than the current value, from 2025, announced the Minister of the Presidency, António Leitão Amaro.
“We have approved the decree-law that increases the national minimum wage for the year 2025, to 870 euros,” announced António Leitão Amaro at the end of the Council of Ministers meeting.
The national minimum wage is currently set at 820 euros.
It has been set at 861 euros in the Azores since the first day of 2024.
The PSD announced last month that the regional minimum wage in the Azores will increase by 210 euros by 2028, following the Tripartite Agreement on Wage Valorization and Economic Growth 2025-2028.
In an October statement, the PSD-Azores announced that the update of the regional minimum wage “represents a monthly increase of 210 euros, from the current 861 euros to 1,071 euros in 2028.”
The PSD/Azores also pointed out that “the national average wage benchmark will rise from the current 1,580 euros to 1,890 euros in 2028” and, on the other hand, there will be “a 50% reduction in the autonomous withholding tax on overtime work”.
