
More cars were sold in the Azores in 2024 compared to 2023. In the first 10 months of the year, 3,896 vehicles were sold, compared to 3,499 in the same period last year, thus increasing the number of cars sold by 397.
If we look at October alone, 52 more cars were sold in 2024 than in the same month in 2023. In the tenth month of the year, 350 vehicles were sold, compared to 298 in the same month last year. Concerning the sale of passenger cars, 32 more were sold when comparing October this year and the previous year. This year, 283 were sold, while last year, 251 were sold. Sales of light goods vehicles also increased, with 13 more vehicles sold than last year. In October this year, 49 were sold, and in the same month the previous year, 36 were sold. The sale of light-mixed vehicles was the only one to fall. No cars of this type were sold last October, whereas two vehicles of this type were sold in the previous year.

As for the sale of heavy passenger vehicles, this was the same as for heavy goods vehicles. Four cars of this type were sold in October, while two were sold in the same month in 2023, increasing sales by 100%. As for the sale of mixed trucks, last year, none were sold in October, and this month, three were sold.
Finally, sales of other types of vehicles also increased. Seven were sold last October, compared to five in the same period the previous year.
