The year 2024 ended with the National Statistics Institute (INE) reporting that tourist activity in the Azores continued to grow in November.
If the figures for the last month of 2023 are reached, 2024 will break all records for tourist accommodation in the Azores, as in the rest of the country.
According to INE, from January to November, the Azores recorded 2.9 million overnight stays, a growth of 9.5%, the highest in the whole country, thanks largely to foreigners, who grew by 14.3%, while residents grew by just 1.6%.

Azores grow by 16% in November.

In November, all regions recorded growth in overnight stays, with the biggest increases occurring in the Center (+24.6%), the Setúbal Peninsula (+19.3%), the North (+18.3%) and the Azores (+16.4%).

Average stay grows in the Azores.

In November, the average stay in tourist accommodation establishments (2.32 nights) continued to fall in the country (-3.6%, after -1.2% in October). Still, it grew in the Azores by 5.2% (2.78 nights), the same happening throughout the year, with a growth of 1.4% (3.01 nights).
