Main goal:

This call aims to select up to eight interns interested in public service who are eager to acquire significant experience in the US legislative process.

These paid, in-person internships will help selected candidates gain first-hand political experience and local and federal government knowledge.

Interns will work directly with a state or federal legislator, and their tasks will be adapted to their field of expertise and personal career goals so they can make the most of their experience.

Internships will be held this Summer, with flexible starting dates, lengths, and working schedules.

One position is open in each of the following offices:

•          Congressman David Valadao (Washington, D.C. Office, Capitol Hill)

•          Congressman Jim Costa (Washington, D.C. Office, Capitol Hill)

•          Congresswoman Lori Loureiro Trahan (Washington, D.C. Office, Capitol Hill)

•          State Senator Jack Martins (New York State Senate)

•          State Senator Jessica de La Cruz (Rhode Island State Senate)

•          State Senator Michael J. Rodrigues (Massachusetts State Senate)

•          State Representative David T. Vieira (Massachusetts State House)

•          State Representative Joseph J. Solomon Jr. (Rhode Island General Assembly)

Applicant eligibility:

All applicants must be US citizens of Portuguese ancestry, aged 18 to 25 (at the time of application). All academic fields are accepted.
