This Tuesday, Madeira International Airport will again record several flight cancellations and detours due to adverse weather conditions.
According to the ANA—Aeroportos de Portugal website, 11 confirmed cancellations, including departures and arrivals, occurred from midnight until the end of today, and one flight was diverted.
Five flights were canceled for arrivals from Dusseldorf, Stuttgart, Munich, Lisbon, and London (Gatwick), while one flight from Porto Santo was diverted. For departures, two flights to Lisbon and others to Dusseldorf, Stuttgart, and Munich were canceled, as was a connection to London (Gatwick).
The cancellations and detours have accumulated since Monday when 28 flights were canceled—15 arrivals and 13 departures—and several connections suffered significant delays.

ANA warned travelers to check their flight status before going to the airport, given the possibility of frequent disruptions.
The Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) maintains the weather warnings that affect air operations in the region. Today, the south coast, Porto Santo, and the mountainous areas of Madeira are under a yellow warning due to strong winds, with gusts that can reach 110km/h. Heavy rain forecasts have also led to warnings being issued for these regions.
In addition, sea waves continue to cause an orange warning for the north and south coasts of the island and Porto Santo. This situation persists until 6 p.m. and has impacted other sectors, such as maritime connections, since yesterday.
