Iberia (Spanish Airline) will resume its seasonal operation to Ponta Delgada on June 7, offering three frequencies a week between the Spanish capital and the Azorean city, the airline said in a statement.
“This is the third consecutive year that Iberia has offered this route,” reads the statement sent out by the airline, which previews Iberia’s news for the coming summer season.
In addition to Ponta Delgada, Iberia will resume operations to Faro and Funchal with five weekly flights. This offer is also complemented by flights to Lisbon, with the airline planning to operate up to 36 weekly frequencies, and Porto, which will have up to 28 weekly frequencies.
Iberia’s operations to Ponta Delgada, Faro, and Funchal are part of the airline’s news for summer 2025 in Europe, announced this Thursday, February 6, and the airline’s global schedule.
In Europe, Iberia will focus “growth on its main markets,” specifically France and Italy. The airline announced that “Paris will have four additional weekly frequencies this summer,” meaning that Iberia will offer “up to eleven direct flights a day.”
In Italy, Iberia will increase its offer to Rome with five additional frequencies a week, “offering between six and seven flights a day, depending on the day of the week, to coincide with the Jubilee Year in Rome in 2025.”
Also, in Italy, Iberia will once again operate in Catania, Olbia, Cagliari, and Palermo, with the airline indicating that it plans to offer “the same offer as in 2024” to these destinations.
Brussels and Vienna, in Belgium and Austria, will also gain flights this summer, with “two more weekly frequencies, totaling four direct flights a day each.”
Still in Europe, Iberia will resume seasonal operations in Tirana, Albania, starting June 7, offering up to three weekly flights. Flights to Ljubljana, Slovenia, will return on July 27 with two weekly connections. Connections to Ponta Delgada certainly open new routes for those from the US who are traveling to the Azores and want to further their travels into other parts of Europe.
