This Saturday, the PS/Açores introduced the list of candidates for the 2025 local elections at the Regional Commission, thus fulfilling its commitment to quickly present “credible, winning candidates with projects that will develop each of the region’s municipalities over the next four years.”
According to Francisco César, President of the PS/Açores, this was the work of the island structures which, following the party’s statutes, “nominated the candidates for the municipal councils of each of their municipalities”.
“Since the structures have made their nominations, this Regional Commission only serves to inform the President of the PS who the candidates are for those 19 municipalities,” said the socialist, stressing that this is good news.
“And it’s good news because it allows us to fulfill our commitment: to find 19 credible candidates as quickly as possible, with the ability to win and with projects that can and have the obligation to develop these municipalities over the next four years,” said Francisco César.
As a result, the PS/Açores is running for mayor of Vila do Porto, in Santa Maria, with Bárbara Chaves, the current mayor who is running for a second term.
