Yesterday, the PS/Azores Parliamentary Group presented a draft Regional Legislative Decree in the Regional Legislative Assembly to create the Recruitment and Selection Commission for the Regional Public Administration of the Azores (CReSAPRA).
The proposal, presented by MP Cristina Calisto, materializes a commitment made by the President of the PS/Azores, Francisco César, in his strategic motion to reinforce transparency and merit in access to positions in the regional public administration.
According to Cristina Calisto, this initiative responds “to the need to modernize and make the recruitment process in the public administration more scrutinizable, guaranteeing equal opportunities and clear selection criteria. “We want a more committed, efficient, and transparent public administration, ensuring that selection processes are fair and based on merit,” the Socialist MP stressed. The GPPS/Azores project introduces significant changes, such as the distinction between senior and middle management recruitment procedures. This ensures the latter is carried out through open competitions guided by CReSAPRA. In addition, it provides for the constitution of recruitment reserves by island, allowing for a better response to the future needs of the regional administration.
