Sofia Ribeiro, the Regional Secretary for Education, Culture, and Sports, highlights and values the addition of 161 teachers to the Region’s staff. “Since 2021, more than 900 teachers have been hired, following a strategy to prioritize education, recognizing the importance of providing stability to teachers and educators,” said the government official. The numbers now presented are the result of the teaching staff recruitment competition, which ended last Friday, May 9.
It should be recalled that the first teaching staff competition organized by the coalition government in 2021 applied, for the first time, the Island Staffing Tables, whose vacancies are filled through three-year contracts.
“If it weren’t for the Island Staff, created by this government, the number of teachers on the staff would have been less than half,” Sofia Ribeiro emphasized.
