The Association of Portuguese Wine Municipalities (AMPV) distinguished the Biscoitos Wine Museum and Grater with the prestigious AMPV awards “Museum of the Year 2025” and “Entity of the Year 2025 – 30 years.” The awards were presented at the Institution’s Intermunicipal Assembly, which took place in Alandroal.
The Mayor of Praia da Vitória, who attended the event, believes that the awards highlight the importance of the two institutions based in the municipality in defending rural culture and heritage.

“The Biscoitos Wine Museum and Grater are two exemplary institutions in strengthening the reputation of our rural culture. This national recognition rewards their work,” emphasized Vânia Ferreira.
At the same meeting, the nominations for European City of Wine 2026 were voted on, with a joint nomination from the Azorean municipalities of Madalena, Lajes do Pico, São Roque, Angra do Heroísmo, Praia da Vitória, Santa Cruz da Graciosa, Vila do Porto, and Horta. The nomination from Baixo Alentejo was the winner.
