Three people were arrested by the Public Security Police (PSP) in Praia da Vitória, on Terceira Island, on suspicion of drug trafficking. The arrests, made in flagrante delicto, were carried out by members of the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Praia da Vitória Police Station as part of an investigation and following the execution of a search warrant issued by the competent judicial authority.
The detainees, two men, and one woman are aged between 33 and 57. During the operation, 12 doses of methamphetamine (known as “twik”), about six doses of liamba, precursors, and various materials intended for setting up two artisanal laboratories for the production of narcotics were seized.
Thirteen prohibited weapons were also seized under the terms of the Legal Regime for Weapons and Ammunition, as well as several objects suspected of being of illegal origin.
The three detainees were brought before a judge for initial questioning, and the court ordered the most severe coercive measure: preventive detention.
