This year’s edition of ExpoCarne Açores, the only regional fair exclusively dedicated to beef, will take place between September 26 and 28, at the Multisectoral Park of Terceira Island, in Vinha Brava, with the participation of breeders from all islands.
The event, promoted annually by the Núcleo de Criadores de Bovinos de Raças de Carne da Ilha Terceira (NCBRCIT), includes an exhibition and competition of beef cattle breeds, lectures, workshops, masterclasses, show cooking, taverns/restaurants, and musical entertainment, among other initiatives.
According to the NCBRCIT, “the first day will be dedicated to welcoming schools, with various fun and rotating stations where students can learn in an entertaining way about farm animals, livestock production, and, in particular, cattle.”
The event will also serve to “promote socialization and meat consumption, with a collective welcome lunch for all visitors and meals served by a carefully selected team of chefs to demonstrate the versatility and quality of our products,” the center said in a statement.
“There will also be solemn moments to honor important figures, and one day will be entirely dedicated to the elevation and promotion of our three native cattle breeds: the Ramo Grande, Catrina, and Brava dos Açores,” it adds.
Local musical groups are also scheduled to perform, as well as a cattle show next to the fairgrounds.
