A new stage for Luso creativity is set to shine. The 2026 North American Luso Talent Competition has officially opened submissions, offering emerging and established performers across the Portuguese-American and Portuguese-Canadian communities the opportunity to showcase their talent before a North-American audience. Singers, dancers, musicians, spoken-word artists, and performers of all disciplines are encouraged to participate in this celebration of Lusophone artistic expression across the Atlantic.
The preliminary round requires participants to register and submit an online video of their performance. Submissions must be received by May 1, 2026, with no exceptions. An independent judging panel will select the top 10 performers, who will then move on to a live final event on October 4, 2026, in Newark, California.
During the live show, finalists will compete on stage before a panel of judges, with the winner receiving a $1,000 prize and feature coverage in Portuguese-language media outlets throughout North America, including interviews and media exposure from PAMA Media and partner organizations. In addition to the jury-selected winner, a People’s Choice Award will also be presented, determined by votes from both in-person attendees and livestream viewers.
All finalists are responsible for their own travel arrangements to attend the live competition. Finalists will be notified privately no later than June 1, 2026. If a finalist is unable to attend, organizers must be contacted by June 15, 2026, to allow a runner-up to advance.
Celebrating talent, identity, and artistic excellence, the North American Luso Talent Competition continues to elevate Luso voices and spotlight the creativity of a community rooted in heritage yet thriving across borders.
