Terceira Island is hosting another edition of “Initiatives for Sustainable Agricultural Production,” an event promoted by the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Food.

“We are investing in agriculture that respects the land, values local resources, and promotes the resilience of our rural communities. Cultivating the future based on science, proximity, and the enhancement of our natural and human resources is, above all, cultivating knowledge,“ says the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Food, António Ventura.

”Terceira is once again the stage for an initiative that puts the Azores at the forefront of sustainable agriculture. These actions are fundamental to empowering our producers and technicians with tools that respond to the environmental and economic challenges of the present and the future,” he emphasizes.

According to the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture, the objective of the initiative, which is part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), is to strengthen the technical capacity and environmental literacy of actors in the Azorean agricultural sector.

The program includes seminars, workshops, and field visits dedicated to innovative and sustainable agricultural practices, with a focus on valuing local resources, adapting to climate change, and promoting resilient production systems.
