Luís Garcia said today that the “Azores with a Future” roadmap confirms “the talent, creativity, and transformative capacity of Azorean youth,” emphasizing that “on all the islands there are concrete examples of young people who believe in the value of work, invest in knowledge, and are creating opportunities for the development of the Region.”

The President of the Azorean Parliament was speaking at the opening session of the eighth meeting of the “Azores with a Future” roadmap, which brought together young entrepreneurs from the island of Terceira, where he acknowledged that after visiting seven islands with the initiative, “I found that our young people are innovating in priority areas for the Region such as the Sea, Agriculture, Culture, Science, tourism, and technology,“ adding that ”today, in Terceira, we confirm that this energy is widespread.“ ”César Martiniano, with the Home of Saudade project, brings the Azorean and Portuguese soul to communities around the world; Letícia Furtado, a doctor at the Hospital de Santo Espírito, represents a commitment to the health and well-being of our population; Bryan Freitas, co-founder of Redcatpig Studio, shows that it is possible to produce video games with international reach from Terceira to the world; and Renata Silva, with the Almah – Velas Artesanais project, combines tradition and sustainability, valuing local crafts and production,” praised the President of the Azorean Parliament.

“On all the islands, we find young people who are changing the way we work, innovate, and live in the Azores. What unites all these examples is courage, talent, and commitment to our land,” said President Luís Garcia. Addressing an audience of about 250 secondary and vocational school students, the President of the Legislative Assembly encouraged young people to “look to the examples presented as inspiration to act with courage, creativity, and a sense of responsibility,” appealing to them to “believe in their potential and in the opportunities that exist on our islands.”

The “Azores with a Future” roadmap reaffirms President Luís Garcia’s commitment to bringing the Azorean Parliament closer to all the islands, promoting dialogue with young people, and encouraging their active participation in building innovative and sustainable solutions for the Region.
