As part of the Municipality’s Cultural Agenda, Velas in São Jorge island continues to promote the Urban Sketchers event, with Pieter Adriaans.

In November, the drawing activity “The Landscape of São Jorge” took place, specifically at the Terreiro da Macela Park, in Lugar da Beira, Parish of Velas.

Once again, participants graphically expressed the history that surrounds them, creating unique interpretations of what they observed.

In the opinion of the Mayor’s office, these actions promote heritage and cultural dynamism, encouraging active citizen participation in the preservation and enhancement of collective memory.
