In a walk that brought together fifty people, organized by Olhar Poente – Development Association, to celebrate the Protective Seal – a national project initiated by the National Commission for the Promotion of the Rights and Protection of Children and Young People, with the aim of reinforcing the importance of creating safe, attentive, and protective environments for all children and young people, joined the campaign “Every Step Counts: It’s in Your Feet,” raising funds to provide meals to families in need.

“Every Step Counts: It’s in Your Feet” is a campaign promoted by the Entrajuda Association and the Galp Foundation, supported by the Food Emergency Network, in partnership with Food Banks.

The walk from Paúl to Marginal da Praia da Vitória covered 2.6 kilometers, with each kilometer walked representing a meal donated by the Galp Foundation to families supported by the Food Emergency Network.

The walk, organized by Olhar Poente through the coordinators of the Protective Seal, Carlota Pires and Tânia Sousa, was attended by Councilman John Branco and Catarina Rocha, representing the Praia da Vitória City Council and the Praia da Vitória Youth Protection Commission, who praised the involvement with the community and the work carried out by Olhar Poente.

Sandra Serpa, President of the Institution, thanked everyone for their presence and said that this was yet another example of how the community can get involved in combating social inequalities that persist and have negative effects in the present and future, noting that “the solidarity shown today, with every step taken, will make a difference in feeding many families. This time, we decentralized our mission through a walk.”
