The São Miguel Agricultural Association (AASM) announces the 11th Micaelense Holstein Frísia Autumn Competition, which will take place between November 28 and 30, 2025, at the São Miguel Exhibition Park, on the fairgrounds in Santana, Ribeira Grande.
The event will once again bring together breeders, producers, and enthusiasts of the Holstein Friesian breed, “in a showcase of genetic excellence in the Azorean dairy sector,” according to the AASM. This year’s edition will also feature a judge of recognized international experience, reinforcing the prestige of the event.
The program for the 11th Michaelense Holstein Friesian Autumn Competition begins on November 28, with the official opening at 4:00 p.m., followed by the election of the best young and adult presenter at 5:00 p.m., and the heifer and calf competition at 6:00 p.m. The most eagerly awaited moment of the event will take place on Saturday, November 29, starting at 7:00 p.m., with the lactating cow competition.
Throughout the evening, the different animals will be evaluated, and at the end, the Grand Champion cow will be chosen, a distinction that marks the high point of the 11th Micaelense Holstein Frísia Autumn Competition. On Sunday, November 30, the Bovine Contest awards ceremony will take place starting at 11:00 a.m., formally closing this edition. Admission to the event is free.
