
The Municipal Council of São Roque do Pico met on December 5, 2025, and approved several important decisions for the municipality’s operations in the coming year.
Among the main decisions was approval of the proposed 2026 Budget and Activity Plan, which will now be submitted to the Municipal Assembly for consideration.
With regard to municipal taxes, it was proposed to maintain the IMI (property tax) rate at 0.3%, as well as reductions for families with dependents. It was also proposed to set the municipality’s share of residents’ IRS (income tax) at 5% and the rate at 0.25% for rights of way.
New delegations of powers to the parishes were approved, reinforcing support for parish councils and proximity to the population.
In the context of support for associations, financial support of €4,000 was granted to the Clube Desportivo de Tiro do Triângulo (Triângulo Shooting Sports Club) to improve its facilities.
Amendments to the regulations of the Santo António Business Park were also approved to encourage investment and job creation in the municipality. Other administrative matters were also considered, reinforcing the local authority’s commitment to sound management and the municipality’s development.
