The Câmara Municipal de São Roque do Pico has signed a program contract with the Associação Cultural de São Roque do Pico, securing a total of €170,000 in financial support aimed at strengthening the municipality’s cultural, recreational, and artistic life throughout 2026.
Municipal funding will support a range of initiatives, including the 19th Pico Island Philharmonic Bands Festival, the Cais Agosto Festival 2026, the ongoing operation of the Arts Center, and the association’s day-to-day management. The support ensures continuity for flagship cultural, educational, and artistic projects that play a central role in the municipality’s life.
The funding will be released in two equal installments in 2026, with the contract remaining in force through December 31 of that year. In return, the Cultural Association has committed to carrying out the planned activities, ensuring proper use of public funds, and providing full financial accountability to the municipality.
Through this program contract, the municipality reaffirms its commitment to valuing local culture, supporting community-based organizations, and promoting initiatives that strengthen the municipality’s cultural identity and vitality.
