The Municipality of Angra do Heroísmo hosted a training session on the Local Government Cooperation Portal, promoted by the Regional Directorate for Cooperation with Local Authorities, under the Technical and Financial Cooperation Scheme with the Parishes and Parish Associations of the Azores, aimed at training local authorities in the use of this platform.
The initiative took place at the Angra do Heroísmo Interpretation Center and was attended by the Mayor of Angra do Heroísmo, Fátima Amorim, as well as members of all the Parish Councils and Assemblies of the municipality, reinforcing the importance of coordination between the different levels of public administration.
The Regional Directorate for Cooperation with Local Authorities has the mission of studying, proposing, executing, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and supervising the implementation of Regional Government policies, promoting cooperation between regional and local administrations, and contributing to the sustainable development of municipalities and parishes through the management and coordination of projects that achieve these objectives.
“The use of the Local Government Cooperation Portal is essential for parish councils to better support their populations and develop projects that benefit their territories; more than a tool, it is an indispensable resource for them to realize their ideas and contribute to the development of their parishes,” said the mayor of Angra do Heroísmo, Fátima Amorim.
