The Rádio Clube de Angra (RCA) will celebrate its 79th anniversary tomorrow, commemorating the occasion with a public ceremony scheduled for 10:30 a.m. in the reception area of its headquarters building on Avenida Tenente Coronel José Agostinho.
According to a statement from RCA’s board of directors, the event will include a “simple tribute” to three contributors to A Voz da Terceira: Emília Freitas, the station’s longest-serving employee, with more than 40 years of service; João Aranda e Silva, a journalist who remains active within the station’s governing bodies and serves as its news director; and João Bettencourt, who worked as a collections officer for more than two decades.
On the occasion, an exhibition will also be on display featuring selected journalistic works by João Aranda e Silva, highlighting his career over several decades at RCA, at Agência Lusa—where he was employed—and in his more recent role as a researcher in International Affairs, the statement adds.
