The current leader of the Socialist Youth/Azores, Russell Sousa, presented his Global Strategy Motion to the president of the Organizing Committee of the XVI Regional Congress of the JS, Miguel Pimenta, this Tuesday, August 6, according to a statement from the PS/Azores.
With the election scheduled for September 6, Russell Sousa is presenting himself with the slogan “The Future of the Azores”, choosing as priority areas for JS action the creation of “better conditions in Housing, Employment, Education, Sport, Health and Transport”.
“Over the last two years, the Socialist Youth of the Azores has worked intensively with public and private institutions. We count on the participation and integration of young socialists in all our islands, both at the level of municipalities and parishes, as well as in the Parliament of the Azores. This is work that cannot stop and must continue,” said the candidate for the presidency of JS/Açores.
Russell Sousa highlighted the “involvement of young people from all the islands in drawing up the Strategy Motion”, stressing that the document “aims to provide answers to the problems felt by young Azoreans”.
“We want to give a voice to our generation, respond to the problems we face but, above all, think about the future of the Azores. Young Azoreans must feel that they can have a decent future in the Azores,” he said.
“Everyone must be heard, everyone must feel represented in this political project, because only in this way will we be able to bring politics closer to the people, especially young people,” Russell Sousa stressed.
The XVI JS/Açores Congress is scheduled for November 8, 9, and 10 in Ponta Delgada, Azores.
