Azores Airlines closed 2024 with a net loss of €71.2 million. Sata’s accounts were revealed late Friday afternoon in a statement sent to newsrooms. The company attributes this loss to the growth in operating and non-operating costs, resulting from extraordinary factors, many of which are non-recurring and inherited from the past.

Sata reports that routes from Porto and Funchal to the United States and Canada were inaugurated through ACMI, which proved to be very negative from a commercial point of view. In the case of SATA Air Açores, the net result for the year was negative by 11.6 million euros.

On the other hand, last year, the Sata Group maintained a growth trajectory in revenues resulting from increased capacity.

Azores Airlines reached €336 million, €50 million more than in 2023, and Sata Air Açores obtained revenues of around €60 million, representing an increase of €3.7 million compared to the previous year.

In 2024, Sata carried 2.7 million passengers—the highest figure ever recorded, representing a 14% increase from the previous year.
